Truth about cardio!

I work out at a local YMCA 4-5 times a week and it always amazes me
when I see how much time people spend on cardio. Did you know
that lifting weights and building muscle tissue is much more
effective than cardio.

You want to lose weight it's imperative that you build muscle mass.
It does not matter if your male or female. You want to replace your
fat tissue with lean muscle mass.

You can cardio all day long if you want. But, to take massive
strides losing weight, you need to add muscle tissue.

You will be able to receive the same benefits as cardio, but your
building muscle mass; which just helps burn fat tissue faster.

Stick to the weights and give cardio a rest and check your body
composition in three weeks. I bet you see a better physique.

Quit the low carb fad.

Eating a total low carb diet leads to insane weight loss. Really,
it works. But, eating nothing but protein leads to massive weight
gains, when carbs begin cycling back into your diet.

The disadvantages of the low carb diet are far greater than the
positives it creates.

You will lose weight when you go low carb, but what happens to your
metabolism when you start eating carbohydrated laden food?

You gain twice the weight back!

I am not kidding listen when you deprive your body of carbs it
begins looking for a new source to nourish your body. The new source
it finds is your fat cells.

But, your glycemic index is greatly affected when you begin cutting
carbs out of your diet. So, when you begin eating carbs again. Your
body quickly begins storing this new found energy source. Which, is
why anyone who has ever gone a carb depletion diet usually gains
all the weight back and more.

Advantages of low carb diets:
Quick weight loss.

Disadvantages:
Slower metabolism, kidneys are slowly harmed, low energy,
crabbiness.

Cutting carbs out of your diet is a sure fire way to begin losing
weight. But, recycling carbs back into your diet every 2-3 days is
the optimal way to lose weight.

Cycling carbs allows a source of energy for your body.

Plus, your body's metabolism never goes into hunger mode. A body in
hunger mode will always and reliably search out a new food source,
usually your fat cells. But, what happens when their is no fat
cells to feed your body?

You body begins attacking muscle cells and uses your muscles as its
new energy source.

I would suggest and though I am not a doctor and you should always
consult your doctor before beginning a new diet. I suggest cycling
in complex carbs every 2-3 days with your breakfast and lunch.

Cycling carbs always gives your metabolism a boost and gives your
body a energy source

Stoking the metabolism.

Have you ever had one of those overbearing wafer like friends that
constantly stuffed their face?

My brother is one of those types. He is constantly eating and
somehow he never gains an ounce. On the other hand is my sister,
she is clinically obese, but eats only once or twice a day.

The main reason for this is the metabolism rates for both are
different. They may have the same DNA, but their metabolisms rates
deviate greatly.

In order to lose weight, you must be able to stoke your metabolism.
I want you to think of your metabolism as a small fire. You do
not keep a small fire lit by throwing huge logs on it once or twice
a day. You continually need to keep feeding it kindling and small
logs. The fire maintained in the later fashion burns strong and
bright all day.

You want to lose weight?

You have to eat 5-6 small meals a day. I am not refering to driving
through Burger King six times a day. I am referring to small meals
eaten every 2-3 hours.

A small meal consists of a protein source and hopefully a fiber
source. You can also alternate a complex carbohydrate
(you will learn more about carb cyling later).

Here is how I start each day.(6:00 am)
I consume 5 egg whites, 1 1/2 cups of oatmeal(good fiber).

Midmorning snack (9:00 am)
Protein shake or bar.

Noon
Roast Beef on whole grain bread, an apple, low fat cottage cheese.

Midday snack (3:00 pm)

Boiled egg whites or tuna fish packet.

Supper(6:00 pm)
Chicken breast or fish, broccoli or asparagus, sometimes rice.

I want you to understand that this is just an example. I have been
eating clean for years now and I have many different recipes to
spice up my meal plan.
